Thought I would share some photos of my 2nd lap steel build.

The wood is cherry ~ 1 5/8" thick. On this build I used chrome components and ebony as the secondary wood. The fretboard, peghead overlay and pickup trim are ebony. The fretboard features M.O.P. inlay of the National style for position markers. I used rather large chrome fret wire for fret "markers" as I wanted them to be bold. The pickup is a Kent Armstrong vintage split tube pickup #SLV-1 with Alnico bar magnet, 4.9K. I used 500k pots for the volume and tuner pots. The bridge is an adjustable Telecaster Style. The scale length is 22 1/2" with a 2" bone nut.

String spacing at nut is .35". string height above fret boards is 7/16". Tuners are Grover 18:1 stat-tite. The finish is acrylic lacquer.
I'm really pleased with the tone.

Since this one turned out so good I put my other build for sale in the classifieds.
I'm starting another using a piece of 75 year old wild cherry.

Wow! Nice work, Terry. I've got an old Silvertone amp in case Dano guitar with a lipstick tube in it so I'm a sucker for these pickups.
