I have not seen an anouncement of this show on the forum, but it is on the clubs website
It is the same day as the Saluda show. Mike Johnson is the main atraction,he is worth the trip.
We failed to make it last year to our home town show because of the expected death of Linda's husband, the docs gave us 3 days till his passing, he is still in constant care which along with my health problems,( I have 4 blood clots on arms, released from Hos. yesterday, and have to stay close by here according to my Doctor.)
My father pseed away in the VA Hos. in Montgomery, not going to push fate.
We hate to miss this one being our home town, mabe Bill will forgive us becouse of the severity of the health problems.

HAVE A GREAT SHOW HOME TOWN BOYS, AND MISS US.

ERNIE NAN LINDA CAROL

PS WE LOVE YOU ALL

Hey Ernie,

Sorry to hear of your continued health problems, we'll sure miss you in Alabama. Slight correction, the Alabama show is the same weekend as the Saluda show, but it is on Fri and Sat. The Saluda show is on Sunday, with the jam session on Sat night. I hate to miss the jam, but I just haven't figured out how to be in two places at one time.

Hope to see ya soon,
Jim

The Alabama Steel Guitar Association annual Show will be held August 18th, 2012 at The Music Hall in Prattville Alabama. Jam will be Friday night at The Music Hall. The address of The Music Hall is 935 N. Memorial Driveway, ( Highway 31 ) Prattville, Alabama. Hotel is Knights Inn, 1657 Highway 31 North. Prattville Al. Knights Inn is located just off exit 186 on I-65. Will be Exit 186, Pine Level, Highway 31 exit. Rooms will be $45.00 with tax and all walking out price $50.00. Hotel # is 334-328-3768. Ask for Alabama Steel Guitar Rate or mention Bill Cook rate. Featured Guests will be Mike Johnson & Family & Friends, Big Jim Vest from Nashville. Tommy Dodd Bill Cunningham, Shorty Smith from Georgia. Don Lynch, Jack Goodson, with Martha Goodson on vocals. Pee Wee Dutton and many more. Featured Singers will be Andy Norman, Wendell Gurly, Lionda Baily, Cletus Hopkins, Jessica Strenth, & Dylan Brabham, just to name a few.Billy Rader, from The Ocean Opry Fame will be The MC.There is some confusion as to why this date conflicts with The Saluda Show Date. In short this is the only date I could get the key people together within a 3 month Time Frame! I hate that it conflicts with Saluda and that many players, singers, people are comitted to the Saluda Show. By all means, honor your commitment to Saluda!! Some people are going to both. I don't/won't to place anybody in an awkard situation so that is why some people have not been contacted by me personally. Everyone is invited and would love for all to attend, but, I understand that people are commited to Saluda and want no hard feelings with anyone. I just wanted to set the record straight on that. Show will run from 0900 till 6.00 on Saturday. Big Jim Vest and Don Lynch will be inducted into The A.S.G.A Hall of Fame. Forgot to mention Gordon Dodson and his niece will also be performing. Any questions please contact me at billcook1014&gmail.com .Thanks and hope to see as many as possible at the Show.

Bill.. Sounds like a great show.. we're planning on coming out to see our good friends in prattville. great news about Don Lynch being inducted into the ASGA Hall of Fame. Don is a fine player and a great friend with a grin on his face every time you see him.. Hope to bring a few steelers from down in this neck of the woods..

Jack,
Yes. But, The regular house band will be playing from 6.00 t0 9.15 or so! They will let us switch Steelers for each set. I am sure they will let you play fiddle all you want plus a 30 min sit in!! If I can get you on about 9.30 Saturday morning can you play then?? Appears you have a conflict with Saturday??

I was at the Atlanta show a few years ago and (as Herby used to say) "for my taste" Jeremy had the cleanest and best tone of anyone there. I'd like to hear see him play again sometime.

Now Rick, you are making me blush! Laughing Laughing Laughing Thanks for the kind words. I had the opportunity a few years ago to have Herby Judge me during Russ Hicks steel idol contest in St. louis and he had alot of good things to say and thankfully i have got that recorded and wouldn't take nothing for it now that Herby is gone.
would be great if you could make it down to the show.

Bill I will send you private email concerning time slot and everything.
