I am reluctantly selling my recently restored D11 ZB. Too many steels. Greg Jones set up.Standard Emmons pedals and Knees 8&5 can send copedant. Marv Fluger refinish two tone green natural. Greg has checked this guitar out
last month. Case in bad shape but will ship. Triple tap original pickups with a huge sound to Buck twang. No issues. Tone machine ready to rock.
2650.00 plus frt. Buy this before I come up with some money and change my mind

Hi Chuck,

This would make someone a great steel. Well I wish that I could afford it.

This must be one of the last ZBs that Zane Beck built and probably a very young Don Fritsche now owner of BMI Steels. I say this because Scranton is where Zane lived when he returned from AZ and soon began building the BMI steels in the late 60s or 70s. He then moved on over to Little Rock. Don lives in the house Zane built there at Scranton, AR.

Don Fritsche or Dan Burnham with BMIs will have the serial number in a log and can tell you when it was born.

I hope it gets a good home. Great Steels made by a Master builder and player!

Terry thanks. Yes Greg Jones has all the info for these guitars and they do sound great.I think Zane built these steels to last a lifetime. I am sure I will regret selling it.

Chuck, my friend, that one looks even prettier than Stu's ex green Desert Rose. You win the prize for the all time best looking pedal steel.
I'd love to have it, but I'm not sure that I could lift it anymore. I attempted to lift a twin reverb recently...it was not a very successful attempt.
I hope that you are doing well. I'm gong to be on the other side of your state in Maryville, TN in a few weeks. I'll have a beer and think of you.
Duncan

Duncan you old twang master. That is at least one of the reasons I would consider selling this jewel. I had surgery in June and let's not discuss that, but It left me feeling older than before and in need of relief. It was between my D10 scranton and this. The scale made the call. Good to hear from you brother.

Let me chime in here too. I did do the restoration on this guitar. The undercarraige was completely overhauled including the changers. The knee levers are fully adjustable and supplied by Billy Knowles, very nice upgrade over the originals. Marv Fluger did the refinish on the body and it will never fade, crack or ding short of hitting it with a hammer. His finishes are top notch and that good. All castings were polished. Also, the C6th tuning has both the high G note on the second string with the D note on top so you get the best of both worlds. As with all of my restorations, I offer a warranty to the customer, should something go sour. I will extend this to the new buyer if it sells,

The guitar plays very smooth and sounds wonderful. Chuck is a very good guy to deal with and if you are looking for a nice Zane built ZB, you wont be disappointed with this one.

Chuck, I cant remember the serial number off hand. If you post it on here, I will be glad to post the invoice date for this guitar. Good luck and hope you get better soon!!!

Ser. #1154 was invoiced on Nov. 6th 1968 to Ben Jack. Terry is right, it is one of the last ZB's that Zane built in Scranton before the company was bought by Tom Brumley and moved to Bakersfield. By the way, this was also the original color on the guitar when it was new.

Joe, that guitar WOULD look good setting next to your blue/blonde one!!!!

I don't mean to hijack your thread, Chuck, but just want to add my 2 cents worth about your beautiful ZB. Greg Jones refurbed my '65 ZB D-10 and I'm convinced it plays better than when it was brand new -- absolutely top-notch work! And that 11th string low E on the E9 neck is a real "secret weapon". If I hadn't retired in June, I'd buy it in a flash. Someone is going to get a very, very nice steel for a very reasonable price. It doesn't get much better than this! Best of luck!

Yes, Zane Beck was a Master builder and player!

I really miss Zane Beck! I though so much of him, that I named my son after him.

Wish I could afford this steel!
