From the Seattle Men Of Steel show last Friday. Moments like this is why I was motivated to put this show on. For the most part we had one steel at a time, but what I wanted here was me playing pretty much the trad stuff and letting Dan rip. We had many great moments. Hope we can get some more clips of Bob Knetzger on pedal steel and Orville playing lap steel.

On the final verse of that particular song (Together Again), Orville sang what I would consider the definitive version. My favorite of all time. Check it out.

This was a great show, with three excellent steel pickers including Orville’s lap steel and a straight eight standup that Dave set up alongside his Shobud. The music was great with good singers and a fun atmosphere. Dan, of course had different color socks on as usual. The three totally different flavors of picking really melded into a night to remember. A night that N W Steel pickers—at least from the local area-- would have crawled to if they had paid better attention to the notice on the Forum.
This is the very first steel get together for Seattle Tacoma since my last jam in 1998 with the Saturday night dance that had eight of the best steel pickers and singers in attendance and a Sunday round the horn mess.
Dave, you did an outstanding job. Hope to see more of these.

Wally, it was great to see you at the show and thanks for the nice words.
My goals for the show were to show different styles of steel playing and have fun doing it. Mission accomplished:) Bob Knetzger and me are similar, but Bob had his Hammond sound for a few and I had the D 8 Fender for some variety. Orville ripped it up on lap steel and dobro and Dan put his own signature sound in the mix.
I most likely will try this again, but gotta let the dust settle for awhile.
