The latest accomplishment of Keezer is securing for UW-Eau Claire one of the nation’s largest collections of music charts and recordings of the biggest names in jazz. This is music from legends including Woody Herman, Count Basie, Maynard Ferguson, Tommy Dorsey, Stan Kenton, Henry Mancini, Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller, among others.

The John Buchholz Collection includes 900 charts and more than 1,000 recordings. The collection that was unveiled Saturday on campus is named after Keezer’s friend and former colleague Dr. John L. Buchholz. Together with Keezer, Buchholz co-founded UW-Eau Claire’s Jazz Ensemble in 1962.

I met Geoff Keezer a bunch of years ago when he first moved to NY. I'm assuming he is related since he is from Eau Claire--maybe Ron's son. Helluva pianist.
