Does anyone know of a post here (or on some other web site) that reveals the basic diagram for inserting a pot between an input jack and an output jack (as in a volume pedal)? I'm aware of the sites that reveal how to wire pots into particular volume pedals (such as Goodrich, etc.). What I'd like to avoid doing is laying out a wiring diagram myself (I'm lazy). I would like to simply print out a wiring diagram from an input jack, to a volume pot, then onto an output jack. Thanks. ...Tom |

Here is a schematic that includes the "Myrick Tone Mod". Just eliminate that extra "tone" pot and you have a basic volume pedal schematic.

heres a pic for those that dont know sign language
the two inside legs are the ones you use ,nothing on the top leg
one leg goes to the hot on input the other goes to the hot on output, makes no difference which goes where
turn the knob one way it goes bass if you switch wires it goes bass in the other direction
you dont need much but it sure sounds good ,been doing this for years.this will let you crank up the treble without getting real tinted
hope this helps

Tom, wiring is pretty simple straightforward, so much so that it really doesn't require a diagram.
The input (guitar) jack is wired to the two outer terminals of the pot, one of which is also grounded. The output (amp) jack "hot" is wired to the center terminal of the pot, and the jack body is also grounded, usually through the frame or housing.
That's it, plain and simple. |
