Finally got these photos of the Shorty Joe Band reunion at the Sacramento Western Swing Society in June of 2007. All three of us played with Shorty Joe at the Tracy Gardens Barn Dance on Steven's Creek Road in San Jose, Ca. PeeWee Whitewing along about 1949 & 1950, Bobby Black 1951 and 1952, Myself, Billy Tonnesen, 1953 and 1954. PeeWee left to join Lefty Frizzel and Hank Thompson. Bobby replaced PeeWee until he left to join Blackie Crawford in Oklahoma. I, Billy T., after seven years on the Ole Rasmussen Band had been Drafted and was stationed at Fort Ord near Monterey, Ca. Being it was a week end gig I was able to drive up and replace Bobby Black. This was one of my most enjoyable Music jobs. I stayed until the Dance was bulldozed to make way for the Macy's Mall. In 1992 the three of us were indudcted into the Sacaramento Western Swing Hall of Fame....
