Sort of a segway, but I just listened to a couple of Mountain Stage episodes on NPR featuring Patty Loveless.

Pete F was playing on one of them. It was the classic country tunes album (Crazy arms, etc...) and steel was right up-front. Pete--your playing was absolutely amazing. The tone, taste, emotion... Truly amazing.

Travis Toy was playing on the other episode, and was also fantastic. The steel wasn't as featured on this one because the the over all vibe was more bluegrass, but when there, the virtuosity was incredible.

You guys are awesome!

For anyone interested, those shows are easy to find on the NPR website, under the Mountain Stage archives.

btw: one one of those shows, she did mention her father who was a coal miner and died of black lung disease.
