Well I attempted to solder the leads of my reverb cables directly to the pins and didn't have enough hand to accomplish it. Took someone's recommendation to use conductive adhesive with molex pins and "glue" the pins together, with a short piece of cable with female RCA plugs on it and use a stereo RCA cable to go from the reverb spring to the socket. This turned out not so good as I was getting a loud crackling noise and severe hum and hiss. It appears the conductive adhesive oozed onto the PC board and may have been shorting out the traces. I managed to clean the traces up, and everything works OK. I had destroyed the original cable in the amp and would like to find one WITH THE MOLEX PLUG STILL ATTACHED. I never had any problems related to that molex plug, but everyone keeps recommending to solder directly to the pins and get rid of the molex plug. Well, I am ready to go back to the Molex plug.
Anybody have a spare cable they don't need? _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Playing for 55 years and still counting. |
