Just a heads up to let you know that my band Blue Moon Highway, along with some friends of mine, is putting on a special Benefit to help out with the disaster on the Gulf Coast. Below are the particulars. If you’re in the Portland, OR area on Sunday, September 25th, please consider coming down and supporting this good cause. For all you steelers, Doug "Have Steel, Will Travel" Jones will be playing with us

Hurricane Katrina Victims Relief Benefit Concert and Dance

Several local musicians and bands have pooled their talents to help raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The evening promises to be full of a variety of music, dancing, food and fun. Music will include some country, western swing, cowboy jazz and good old rock and roll. Local bands contributing their talents include Blue Moon Highway, Los Cowtones, Ruby Red, Keeter Stuart & The Longshots, Mars Needs Women, and Moonshine Hangover. Suggested $5 donation at the door. Chicken dinners available from 5PM - 7PM and are $6.50 or 2 for $10. Raffle tickets will be sold for $3 each or 10 for $20. All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The fun will begin at 1PM at the Holiday Inn Portland Convention Center’s Bellmont Ballroom located at 1441 NE 2nd Ave (and Weidler). All ages welcome.
