I am currently debating the purchase of either a Msa classic d10 with 8 and 5 , or a simmons Genesis sd10 3 and 4 that are both pretty equally priced. Obviously the d10 has a c6th neck, but which guitar is the better playng, sounding, and more valuable guitar? I believe that the simmons is pull release. Not sure of the msa, figured it would be all pull.
What are your thoughts? Thank you so much! _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 , Lil Izzy Buffer, Goodrich 120 volume pedal, Boss DD-7, Peterson Strobo flip, Peavey Nashville 112 |

Right. the MSA is an all-pull, and will be easier to tinker on, should you so desire.
I played a Simmons, albeit one that Bob said "I never should have built, the customer was a goofball." The guitar had 6 pedals, no knees, and each pedal moved 1 string.
Like all pull-release guitars, it had great tone.
Personally, I'd go for the D-10, but I love the C6th stuff.
Pull-release will be harder to find knowledgeable repair folks.
I'd say slight edge to the MSA, but only slight.
They're cantankerous to learn to tune, but I like pull-release tone. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Thanks a lot! I have experience with all pull guitars so tuning shouldn't be an issue. I can't wait to play with some c6 licks. _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 , Lil Izzy Buffer, Goodrich 120 volume pedal, Boss DD-7, Peterson Strobo flip, Peavey Nashville 112 |
