For the past month, I've been working on recording a new all-jazz CD with some of the top jazzers in Philly. I'm really excited about how it's all coming together. Just great, great playing from:

Frank Strauss, piano
Chico Huff, electric bass
Steve Beskrone, upright bass
Grant MacAvoy, drums

What a treat to work with these guys!

AND... I'm so delighted and humbled to have making a 'cameo appearance' on the disc the jazz guitar legend, Jimmy Bruno. We recorded Jimmy's sides yesterday and, OMG, what a monster! Here's a shot from the studio:

There are even more surprises in store too...

Assuming no major disasters along the way, the CD should be available in time for ISGC over Labor Day. Smile

Jim . . .
Looks like Jimmy is imparting the
new pedal steel technique to you:
The 'thumbless eight-finger straight-across'
method is catching on all over! Get with it! Laughing
I totally can't wait to hear your new project . . .

Going back into the studio tonight to finish mixing the album. I'm really excited about how it's all coming together. My secret: get the best damn players you can find anywhere, introduce the tune, and then get the heck outta their way! Smile
