Just a simple hint to the steel guitar dealers/builders. Why not deliver the guitars with two longer and two shorter legs. Then it's up the player to choose which ones are used as front legs. The legs plus a set of rod extenders would make the guitar more comfortable for taller players.

Peter I think most guitar manufacturers let you custom order the length of leg you need !!!

Peter if you were to buy a BenRom, I would have you make a couple of measurements of that tall Finnish frame of yours and I would size the legs accordingly. No extra charge

They don't have to do it on every guitar. If you have issues with not knowing high long you need the legs to be, you just order extras of the other lengths when you order the guitar. As far as second hand guitars go, how many owners will keep or remember where the extra legs are? I probably wouldn't.

I think he is talking about the front legs that are not really adjustable like the rear.
Forgot to add to my above post: If they included the longer and shorter front legs, they would also have to either include longer and shorter pedal rods, or a lift kit to raise it. Lift kits already include a piece of pipe to slip on the leg between the pedal bar and the clutch on the leg. Looks a little funky, but works. Shorter front legs would require an additional set of pedal rods that are shorter.

If guitar makers made the pedal bars with index pins and a few corresponding holes on the inner leg about 3/8" apart, a player could lengthen the front leg to suit.

Peter, in case you meant I misunderstood, I think I got it, and if you needed the legs longer, you could just extend them, and index pins would eliminate the need for the pedal bar to sit snug against the end of the outer leg.
But you'd need more than one hole for the index pins to seat in.
That only addresses the legs,and not the pedal rods

Lane, I was not referring to your post. Perhaps a picture shows my idea a bit more. And as I earlier mentioned, a set of one inch rod extenders would not be too expensive anyway.
