I am selling my '71 Twin Reverb with Rick Johnson head cabinet. I have my '75 Vibrosonic (in an identical head cab that) I like barely more. Reason for selling--I have my eye on another amp project.
The '71 started life as a Fender Twin NON-MASTER volume silver face amp. A few years ago, I scored a black-face replica face plate. I don't think you can find them anymore--(Fender evidently threatened suing the poor fella who was making them). And of course, the Rick Johnson cab, tolexed as Lloyd Green and Ricky Davis' head cabs(and yes!! with these colors, you really DO sound just like Lloyd and Ricky!! )
Ken Fox went through this amp, with instructions to make it the best steel amp possible--work it over as if it was going to be the last tube amp on Earth, and would be his. And as many know, Ken delivers--and this amp is awesome. He did the same with my vibrosonic, so keeping the vibrosonic, I will NOT go without Kens fine craftsmanship and tube-amp mojo. Infact, my next amp project will go to Ken.
I'll have some inside pics tomorrow if anyone wants. The tone caps are Orange drops. The "normal channel" has reverb/vibrato. Clean headroom for days. And Ken upgraded the bias circuitry for safer more accurate biasing. So $650 + shipping.
Here's some pics:
