Hi,
There is a Fender pedal steel with no legs or case for a BIN of $425. free shipping. It has the pedal board with pedals with no rods and it's the nice sunburst color. It is a ten string guitar but a beginner could string it with six or eight. Anyway thought it was a good buy for someone.

On second thought and a closer look maybe not. Didn't see the vol tone controls messed up.
O well. |

Legs might cost $150-$200 to replace, since they are different than most other steels, and a case will run at least another $100. With the added expense, it goes from "good deal" to "average - with additional money and effort required".
Unless you are used to hunting and fetching, and mixing and matching, deals like this are best left for others. ![Oh Well](images/smiles/icon_ohwell.gif) |

Hi Donny
I agree. But I was thinking of just useing it as a lap steel not rebuilding it as a pedal steel. I posted this in steels without pedals because beginners are always looking for a starter steel and in MHO older steels are a better buy than newer one because you should be able to get your money back if you buy right and don't learn to play.
Also I didn't notice it needed the Vol/tone controls and who knows what else. I would have deleated this post but couldn't.

Fwiw, I don't think i'd want something as
heavy as a Fender pedal steel body setting
on my lap for any amount of time!

If you could find a case for $100.00 that would be a steal. And the best deal on legs I've seen is about $40.00 ea. The best thing to do here is wait and be patient. If you want one of these, sooner or later they pop up. _________________ Zum Encore, Zum Stage One, Fender 2000, Harlan Bros., Multi-Kord, |

I don't even know if the deal is over or not, but I recall those Fender steels didn't use the same diameter or thread pitch as standard, modern steel guitar legs. So that might be another problematic area to deal with. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |
