It is with a sad heart that I post this. Glenn Boppre, of Pengilly, Minnesota, a friend and fellow pedal steel guitar player & forum member has passed away on July 7, 2012.

You couldn't find a nicer guy and he always loved talking pedal steel guitar.

Here are a couple of links to his obituary from the Hibbing Daily Tribune & Grand Rapids Herald Review:

Go Rest High On That Mountain, & Rest In Peace Buddy !!

God Bless,

I've worked many shows with Glen over the years. He was a great player.

He'll be missed by many.

Hastings show some years back.....I spoke to Glenn at the show for quite some time and still have his business card given to me.
I mistakenly posted a photo up of Bob Anderson(far right) who had a stroke some years back and is not in real good health & also from up north.

Here is a pic of Glen.

Front L-R: Jerry Scofield, me, Charlie Stupca
Rear L-R Loren Morehouse, Glen Boppre, Jim Watson, Les Swanson.

I ried to crop this picture but couldn't get it to work.

So sorry to hear of Glenn's passing. He was on most of the shows that I produced here in Minnesota when we started our steel guitar shows.

I haven't seen him in a few years, but was a great person to talk to and listen to as he played steel.

May his family and friends find peace and comfort as they go through this period of loss.

George...nice pic, I love it!! Glenn would give me a call once in a while to talk shop and compare notes. Always loved to argue with him on equipment. Seems we could always stir up a heated conversation, all in fun of coarse, but just showed how much we loved and admired the things associated with steel guitar!! Glenn, I hope you and Les are tuning them babies up for a super jam!! Thanks Glenn and all my best my friend!! Loren.
