Topic: Installation of pedal rods on my Pro 2-Custom Sho-Bud |

Hello steelers - total newbie question:
Well I have made a big leap from my Carter Starter to a Sho-Bud !! Custom and I am confused about how I install the pedal rods. On the Starter, the rods came in from the side and there was only one hole to choose from. On the Sho-Bud, there are 3 holes, and as I see it, there are 2 possible ways that the rods can be attached to the pedal rod lever:
1) with the "l-shaped"hook end, pointing inwards
2) and with the hook end pointing outwards towards the wooden front of the guitar.
I'm pretty sure it is 1) but the pedals are very hard to push down when set up in this way.
If anybody has any pictures, or videos that could help me set this up - It would be much appreciated.
And any info on which of the pedal level holes to choose would be great too.

That is correct installation (I have a Pro 111)> I positioned mine to determine the ease and difficulty of squeezing the pedals. Close to the axle short and harder, farthest from the axle longer pull and easier. Tweak it to your satisfaction.YMMV  Hope this helps |

| So the proper rod installation is the one on the left in the picture, not the right? Great. And I'll try to move it over to the 3 hole - tight squeeze!. Thanks. |

I like a long pull on my A&B pedals and short on my C. Mine are like this A last hole to the left, B&C center hole. But kind of play around until you find what is comfortable for you.  Hope this helps. Ray |

It's not a new guitar, so by careful examination of the levers, you may be able to see some wear, which might tell you where previous owners had the rods hooked up.

Yes, but there's no answer to the pointing in vs. pointing out.
I'd be inclined to point them in, but if that increases difficulty in playing, I'd point them towards the apron.
