We had a good turnout for the meeting,,,even several "new" faces and a "newbie" playing his steel, which is a welcome sight.
I made my usual amount of goof ups, but thanks to Boo Miller, he covered just about all of them.
That little custom ShoBud Maverick/Stage One that Boo played absolutely stole the show. My hat is off to Doug Earnest for a job well done.
Also, a big thank you to Billy and Patty Phelps for "holding things together" with our club.

Bobby, It was good to see you in such good form. Boo was good, but he didn't steal the show, he just complimented your inimitable style. You can take any ordinary song and make it EXtraordinary like no one else. |

Great To see Bobby back at the meeting. Looks like you guys are having a great time. Wish I could be there, California has great weather but I sure miss good ole Texas music and the Steel Guitar club meetings. I have not had either one of my steels or a guitar out since I've been here. I really miss playing! _________________ A couple of guitars

John
Where were you? If you ever need a ride give me a call. You missed another great time at SETSGA Meeting. We have really been having a good turn out the last few months & I hope it gets better. Those that don't come are missing out and we are missing out on them. Boo came all the way from Branson because he heard it was so good. OK, maybe he didn't, but it was great having him and Lisa and I hope they return soon.
See you Down the Road

The new facilities build eats up to much time during the week and weekend. It should slow down in OCT |

A great meeting again, and a good time was had by all.
It was a real treat to have Boo Miller at the jam, Lisa Layne too!
Bobby Bowman is my favorite player, and one of my favorite people in the whole world. A great friend and mentor, I am always amazed by the feeling he puts into every tune.
As for me, if I could play one tenth of what Bobby is calling goof-ups and Boo is calling fumbling I'd be a very happy steel player!
Thanks Billy and Patty for making this possible! |

Great picking and it looks like everyone had a super time. Sorry I haven't been able to make the meetings this past year as I've been playing on the first Sunday with a Contemporary Christian Group at St. Francis Church in Orange, Texas. We are off for the summer and hopefully I can get back over to Katy for at least one meeting. Keep it going guys and gals!!! |
