There will be a benefit on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at The Track Shack in Spring, TX probably starting around noon for my pal Randy Cornor. Some of you may remember Randy for his guitar work with Frenchie Burke, Gene Watson and Mel Tillis, as well as his success as a solo artist in his own right, with several hit tunes in the 1970s and 80s, including "Sometimes I Talk in My Sleep".

Randy recently had surgery to repair some discs in his back. He has been unable to do any sessions or gigs for several months now and could use some help. Randy is always the first to step up and help his fellow musicians, so now it is our turn to pay it forward.

Most of the Houston area pickers I know will be in attendance as well as Tony Booth, Bobby Flores and the Yellow Rose Band, and possibly Frenchie Burke; so if you are in the area and care to offer your support to this fine man and great player, please come on July 1st.

If you are unable to attend, but would still like to help Randy, checks can be made out to Katie Tatum (who is handling all of Randy's business for him) 4602 Durant #46, Deer Park, TX 77536.

Thanks, Jody Cameron

Would love to attend this for Randy. He is as nice a guy as I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with. I'll be coming home from Midland on Sunday, though, and will have to miss it.

I was with Frenchie Burke last night, and he said he will be at the Benefit. I will try to make it also.
