I am looking for some easy tab for pedal steel for both E9 and C6.
I mean real easy, just to learn my way around the instrument. |

Hey James,
Be sure to bring your new guitar to the jam session so you can set in on Rogers Edgingtons lesson he is giving from 1 pm til 1:45pm. Roger is a great teacher and a wealth of knowledge...jr |

Good suggestion. If nothing else, I'll get some practice breaking it down and setting it up. Actually if I can get used to the narrow string spacing, I don't think I'll have any trouble with it. I am used to the neck on a lap steel. |

Suggest you get hold of Erv Niehaus's lists of country classics (or gospel) and order a bunch of them - a dollar apiece - I'm a beginner too and find these really good. They are clear, easy to read, right amount of skill level, have melody line, guitar chords and E9 tab. Plus Ev is a really nice guy to deal with. Can't fault them! _________________ Ben-Rom #017 'Lorelei', Guild D25, Epiphone 'Joe Pass', Roland 40XL, Hilton VP

I actually did get 9 of Erv's tabs. I just about have a handle on "How Great Thou Art" In truth, I was expecting a country version. These tabs could be played in church instead on an organ. Some of the knee lever and pedal combinations kind of have the organ flavor. _________________ Curbside Jimmy's New Act

James,
Yes, you are correct with your assessment.
In fact, when I play in church I use a Leslie unit to get an organ effect for part of the song.
My gospel songs are taken from various sources, some of which are church hymnals.
The Lord is pleased when you give praises to him on an instrument of 10 strings. (Psalms 33:2) |
