Last night some local folks had a wedding dance at the old Sons Of Hermann lodge here at Old Glory, Tx. I was tired and wasn't going to go so I ask my son to text me a report on the band. He said they were playin some pretty good dance music and they had a steel player playing a ShoBud. I told him to try to get the guys name. He texted me back and said the guy says his name is Ricky Davis and you better get down here cause he's just rippin that ShoBud. So I went and met Ricky Davis. Fine steel picker and good ole boy. Don't let anyone tell you can't play pedal steel in your sock feet. Ricky, did you make it to the gas station?

Hey Danny; great to meet you and thanks for coming down. Yes I didn't realize how far on the other side of the freakin MOON ya'll are and didn't regulate my gas very well...ha. I had 21 miles left on my tank when I left the gig and it was 19 miles to that shell station.....yeee haaa...made it no prob.
Great folks and great old school living out there; it was a great reminder on just how spoiled we are in the big cities.

Yep, we're not at the edge of the world, but you can see it from here. I'm sorry that not more people were dancing as they usually do. For some reason they were scattered all around outside. I appreciated the volume you guys used. Alot of bands that come out there try to shake the muddobber nests down and wake up the rattlesnakes under the floor. (slight exaggeration), but you guys were about right where people could talk to each other. Good music and I'm glad you made it to the gas.
