Have a Carvin lap steel. Would like to get more bass. Am using 500k ohm pot for tuner with a .02 microferad cap. What do I need to change and to what value??

The tone knob won't increase bass, just shorts highs to ground, making the sound muddy, IMO.
If you want more bass, I'd add an EQ box or changes amps.
