Hello friends,

Tomorrow night something will happen at the avant-garde music space called Tonic, that probably hasn't happened all that often: two out of the three bands will feature steel guitar. I will be playing steel and dobro with Downriver, an instrumental quartet featuring open-tuned double neck guitars, bass, and drums, and yours truly on PSG an Beard dobro. Gregg McMullen and his new Mullen D-10 will tear it up with Hula, a beautiful minimalist indie band.

Tonic is located at 107 Norfolk St., just a bit north of Delancey on New York City's storied Lower East Side. Downriver will go around 9 and Hula around 10:30 or so.

Would love to see some of our forum friends there for a few sets of steel guitar in a non-traditional context.

Thanks for reading my post.

How did the shows go ? I was playing at Zebulon in Brooklyn with a Kenny Wollenson, Tony Sher free for all. There must have been 15 killin players crammed onto that stage. There where 5 or 6 drummers !
Another NYC forum guy Johnathon Gregg was gigging at the Rodeo Bar tonight with Sean.

I'll be at Tonic on thurs. They always seem to have really good looking women doing the sound. Its sorta pleasant there.

Bob
