This is not just a drum machine. Per the features described in the owner's manual, it has 256 instrumental sounds, high quality drum, guitar, and bass sounds. The unit allows creation and storage of 200 original patterns in addition to the 200 pre-set patterns. It will operate with AC or 6 AA batteries. You can create your own full band rhythm tracks.
I am the original owner and I have used it only a few hours. I was able to learn to operate it pretty easlily with the help of the instructional video tape. I found that if I made a chord (number chart) of the song, then went to the DR-5, it was pretty simple to program a whole song since a lot of the chord patterns I set up were used through out the song, so I could use th patterns over and over without having to re-program them.
I have the owner's manual and the instructional video that I paid $40.00 for in addition to the $350.00 that I paid for the DR-5. If you purchase the video for $40.00, then I will let the DR-5 go with it for $35.00. I know, it is a sneaky way to ask $75.00 for everything. I will pay the shipping to the lower 48 states.

Roger, thanks for the unsolicited positive post. I will be happy to send the DR-5 to Billy Cooper from here if anybody is interested in getting his mod done to it. No charge for the postage to Billy. You take it up with Billy as to how much the mod costs and what shipping he will charge to forward it on to you.
The video is a godsend. So much easier to learn than wading throught the manual. The good thing is that once you view the video and understand the basic's, it is easy to go to the manual for more detail. You know what you are looking for.
There is nothing wrong with the unit. I have just never found the time to sit down and make tracks. I might have used it 10 or 12 hours, max.
Great deal for somebody. |
