The History of the Geib Musical Instrument Case Company by Steve Kirtley was linked at the Mandolin Cafe, and I thought some of you with Gibson lap steels might be interested in this well written article.

Thanks, Brad. I found that very interesting. Often the sideshows are as entertaining as the main events. No Gibson steels here, but I do have an old flattop.

Cool! I have had many old insts with their original pre- and post-WW II cases, and aesthetically appreciate the cases nearly as much as the insts. Perhaps this is why I disdain the current crappy cases with cheap, fuzzy linings and (the worst) indoor-outdoor carpet coverings! Thanks for posting!

I have several Geib cases and all are excellent
build.
