My son recently gave me his Boss DD-6 delay unit.. I have never used one before.
Can anyone give me some basic tips on the settings to use with this effect..
Thanks in advance

Larry, a good starting point for slow to medium songs would be something like this:
E.LEVEL: about 10:00 o'clock to 11:00 o'clock
F.BACK: about 10:00 o'clock
D.TIME: about 11:00 o'clock
MODE: 800ms
The idea is to create two or three repeats, set back, at a lower volume than the original sound, and fading away. The repeats should not obscure or interfere with the original sound, but should echo it, distant, and fading away.
Be sure to patch your cords into Input A and Output A for use with one amp (not stereo)
E.LEVEL is the blend control between the original sound and the delay sound. You want mostly original sound and a lesser amount of the delay, so keep that knob at less that 12:00.
F.LEVEL controls the number of repeats (Feedback level).
MODE controls the basic delay times. The higher the number, the longer the delay time.
D.TIME is a fine tuner for delay times. So after you set the Mode you can fine tune the delay time within that Mode.
The DD-6 has a Tap function that allows the user to set the delay time "on the fly", during a song, to SYNC the repeats exactly to the tempo of the song. To set it, press the pedal and Hold it down for 2 or 3 seconds until the light flashes. Then tap on the pedal at least 3 times to match the delay to the tempo of the song. To exit that mode, press and hold down the pedal for a couple of seconds until the light stops flashing. This is a very handy feature if you play with a band. I use it often on steel and on regular guitar. I like this pedal so much... I own three of them! _________________ My Site / My YouTube Channel
