MPI Music Producers Institute is honored to announce a special event:

Duane Eddy & Dan Dugmore Studio Summit

Friday and Saturday June 22-23, 2012 at world-renowned Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville, TN.

See and hear Rock Hall of Fame guitar legend and the King of Twang Duane Eddy and steel guitar studio wiz Dan Dugmore record and mix two new songs for an upcoming project at Nashville's Sound Emporium "Studio "A."

If you've ever wanted to know what goes on during a live recording session, this is for you.

Also booked for the session are renowned studio musicians Spooner Oldham on keyboards and Richard Bennett on guitars, with more top players to be added soon.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see Duane Eddy and Dan Dugmore record new instrumental music together. This is a master recording session; you'll see and hear the "real deal," in one of the finest studios anywhere.

For your convenience, this session has been scheduled as close to a weekend -- June 22-23 -- as possible.

Tuition for this special two-day event is $799 and seats are limited to only twelve attendees. To register or learn more about the session please go to MPI's website at www.musicpi.com or send an email to sessions@musicpi.com or call MPI at 615-283-0201. I'll also try to answer any questions that come up here.

Thanks a lot Mike.

It's great to witness a live recording session with a killer engineer in a world-class studio. In this case the session will also include more legends than a road map. Very Happy

I Posted this in the Steel Players also but I think Fish has a great idea. Six or seven years ago I produced some tracks in Nashville and used Dan Dugmore for the steel tracks. He played live with the rhythm section.. Dan brings a great vibe to the session and is very laid back and easy to get to know... Really a great steel player and doubles on guitar too. It's a great opportunity for anyone to see how it's really done. A DVD would be ok but there is nothing like really being there.. If you have never experienced it for yourself, it's worth every penny...

Earnest: I vote for "Forty Miles of Bad Road."

Wally: thanks a lot.

MPI is a chance to see the real deal, something beyond what music production schools like Full Sail, Berklee and SAE offer. With MPI, you're in the studio at a real session with a legend. And it sure beats the heck out of Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp's prices: http://rockcamp.com/rrfc_vegas_2012.php

Here's an article released today that better explains what we're trying to do:

Thanks a lot Skip.
I will most certainly say hi to Dan for you.

I wish you could be here to join in the fun and hang with Spooner, Plus, I hear on pretty good authority that Duane Eddy plans to record "Blue Jade" as a tip of the hat to his old friend Buddy Emmons.

Grammy winner David Leonard, who has engineered and mixed many albums with Dwight Yoakam, John Mellencamp, The Indigo Girls and many others and who also engineered "Purple Rain" for Prince will be at the board for our June 22-23 sessions with Duane Eddy and Dan Dugmore. In fact, "Purple Rain" was just inducted into the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress: http://www.abcactionnews.com/dpp/entertainment/music/princes-purple-rain-among-25-recordings-saved-by-the-library-of-congress
