I am off this weekend to play the Trans-Tasman Country Music festival on Norfolk Island (about half way between Aussie and New Zealand, and a little south of New Caledonia) ... I am backing up Suzanne Prentice who is NZ's female country music superstar, but I will also be playing with all the other artists who will be performing throughout the week too .. Should be a fun week, and hopefully I will get some down time to enjoy a beer and the wonderful tropical weather (it's nearly the beginning of our winter - such as it is, here in NZ )
No chance of being able to hire a steel amp on Norfolk of course so I will be flying my Zum D10, rack rig and Telonics speaker cabinet ... the organisers are happy to pick up the excess baggage bill so thats good

Have fun Paddy.You get all the good gigs[I did a gig on a traffic island once] If you put your rig on a balsa raft it might arrive in Brisbane in time for the convention[save a few bucks on airfare]Look forward to seeing you soon mate.[don't forget to write "fragile" on the raft!]

Haha thanks for all the comments guys, I just got home last night and had a brilliant week -- all the shows were packed out and very well received .. Michel I had a great afternoon jam with Dougie and the lads from the Smokin Crawdads at the RSL - I was in my element :-}
And yes I just love the local Trumpeter -- almost as good as our deep sea blue cod !!!!!
Tony I saw a lot of Davis's on the tombstones at the old Prison ruins -- obviously your family mate....
Bob I will see you in a few weeks at the Brissie steel show.
