I Played steel in Joey Rileys show for the Last 3yrs .. He was Mickey Gilley's steel player for almost 20yrs and recently quit to go work for a fellow named Clay Cooper .. Joey is a wonderful Comedian and a good steel player he plays fiddle equally well and puts on a good show he has his own show too called Joey Riley's comedy revue.. he is mainly based in Branson Mo and recently moved his show from Gilley's theatre over to musIc city center . I Moved back to Dallas after the 2011 season and quit the show however Bruce hoffman moved into the steel chair this yr . If you get a chance go see his show the steel mobile skit is worth the price of admission ..

We caught Joeys show in Branson when Tom Brumley was in the steel chair. Joey has a great show and certainly paid tribute to Toms'accomplishments, especially featureing him on a medley of the # 1 hits he had played. Joey did a great Johnny Cash with the wig and long black coat. The whole cast was great and we really enjoyed the show. We got to visit with Tom after the show, . Tom was the all time Hero to our son Greg and because of their friendship he had comped tickets for us. It was the highlight of our trip west and our best stop in Branson. Of course we are biased. It had been a wet mizerable ride in the night before on the Gold wing but the next day it was all worth it. |

My wife and I were out in Branson last week. We went to see the Clay Cooper show and was surprised to see Joey there playing steel. (When we were in Branson in 2010, Joey was with Mickey Gilley.) After watching Joey with Clay Cooper, we bought tickets and went to Joey's show that afternoon. He is a very good musician playing steel, fiddle, accordian etc. In addition to his musical talents, Joey is a very funny comedian. And it's not just the comical lines he uses, he has a lot of facial expressions that add to his routines. Go see this man perform. You will be entertained. |

I was priviledged to meet Joey at the summer Ozark Steel Guitar Jam a couple of years ago. As the show came to half-time on Saturday several folks went out on the front porch of the Community Ctr, so i followed , and just sat around talking. I didn't know Joey at that time, but he came out and sat down aand started talking with a bunch of us there, telling stories and crackin most everybody up with his jokes. Nice guy first of all , and then i was told of his talents and got a sample of his routine later at one of the Shows on the Strip. Hopefully my wife and can go to Branson this summer to the Jam again and take in the Clay Cooper Show and catch up with Joey's gig too. Branson is our favorite vacation spot , Hope the repair is going well and the folks that suffered injuries and losses are recovering well , also. --God bless you all, Skip |
