I recently purchased this guitar form a forum member and would like some info on it, if anyone can help.I don't even know what year this guitar was made in. Mark placed the ad to sell this guitar on the forum and I called him within 4 minutes and agreed to purchase it from him. He called me back 20 minutes later and told me that he had news that would make me very happy. He had just received a phone call from a forum member and was told that the guitar that he just sold me for $1,550 was worth a over $2,500 also it was hand made by Del Mullen himself and has sustain to die for. Also this person had 30 people waiting to buy it now. Good thing Mark is a man of his word.
I am short and one of the knee levers hits me on the top of one of my legs. The guitar did come with an extra set of long knees but the guitar will not fit in the case with them on. The ad read burlwood color and I thought I had just purchased a lacquer guitar and I don't care for the mica. I cleaned it up, changed the strings, played it for about 2 minutes and put it back in it's case. It's in almost new shape. I will be reselling this guitar soon but I need to know what I have. Thanks for any help.
It's has become very hard for me to get any info. |

Well, I got an email back from Mike. No info just a offer to purchase and a phone number. He buys and sells steel guitars for a living so what else should I have expected from a dealer. I was told that this guitar was over 30 years old, so maybe if it was #0001 I could see everyone wanting it, but #2284. But thanks Chas.. |

Interesting...
It's definately an older model. I have a Mullen from the late 70's that has the "non-colored" fret board. The black endplates are curious. The under carriage does not look like Pre-RP or RP vintage.
Perhaps if you sent Mike your pics, or maybe Mickey Adams can shed some light. |

Duane I am not sure who you sent an email to and what the response was, but you did not email me.
I am Mike Mantey and I am Del Mullen's Grandson and I work for him at Mullen Guitars. I am not a dealer and do not buy and sell.
The guitar you have is one of our old Semi-Pro Models. It was built in Nov of 1990. They were considered our student model at the time, but they do have a completely pro changer.
Hope this helps and not sure who answered your email. |

Mike, I used the email at the Mullen site.
Now that I reread the email that I thought I received from you, I see it was from another member named Mike also. I just didn't look at the last name. Very sorry for the mistake.Mike thank you very much for all the info. You have been a huge help. |

Great. Thought I got hacked or something. I did send you an email from Mullen Guitars though this morning. So you will also have an email from me there. |
