I don't know how many of you new/old steels players know Billy but what an awesome talent he has working on Emmons steels and for the most part any steel!

I was having trouble with my 2010 D10 staying tuned and issues with levers sticking and strings not returning after a raise and really lowers.

Now i will say i'm stupid by not understanding an all pull steel. I've played PP since i started and 2 to 3 years back i finally went to an all pull.
I must have missed the class on tuning an all pull because the main issue with the 6th string on my steel was tuning the lower on the RNL. Only to have Billy tell me it's tuned with the upper stop not on the nylon lower tuner. Yep i'm stupid! Sad

Billy gave me a full beginners course on tuning an all pull Emmons.
Now that Billy has me where i totally understand it, it made a big difference.

Billy found things wrong my Emmons i had no idea they were happening. See, playing live when something gets out i always adjust while i play. With the bar position until i get home and figure out what's happening.

Trust me, i'm not nowhere close to the talent Billy has. After about an hour are so he had my Emmons so smooth, in tune, pedal and lever travel perfect, the clicking and sticking on my RNL gone and working perfect.
My RNR lowers 2 a half and a whole and lowers 9 as well. This lever also lowers 3 on the C6 neck. It was so hard to engage and i really never felt the half stop on string 2. I would just try to feel it and hear the note when i used it. After Billy put the magic touches on it now is so easy and the half stop is very firm.

If you guys need an expert and a very talented man, Billy is "Da Man"!

Ok, i'll stop my ramblin but i want to thank Billy for inviting me down to his vacation time with his friends and taking the personal time to work on my Emmons. He is an awesome man and one i consider as a close friend.
Thanks so much Billy and oh yea, the fried catfish was awesome! I enjoyed playing some tunes for your friends as well!

Always my best man......kenny
