This music was written by my Hawaiian teacher, Mr. George Kaahiki for a six string laap steel in the C#Minor tuning. This was back in 1943. Mr. Kaahiki
gave us his copy and I had to transcribe it in my own staff book (as pictured) Mr. Kaahiki did not write the songs but they are his arrangements.

Billy, that's great that you still have that stuff. Someone sold me a stack of Dick McIntire lessons with tab and notation from his lessons with Dick, all written out by Mr. McIntire. There are a few old copies, but most are handwritten.

I too, took lessons from a real Hawaiian, Charley Kalani, who at the time lived in Sandy, OR. I was about 9 years old +/-.

I had to write out each weeks music lesson assignment.

He's the first teacher that ever played rythmn g'tar for me for each lesson. At that point, I was hooked.

Mike, what was your opinion about the tabs with notation?

I have a steel guitar friend, Dick, who took lessons from Dick McIntyre in Southern California.

Thanx for posting those, Guy, you don't find much TAB in this tuning. It's what I use, only with a G# on top and an A in the middle. If you have more I'd appreciate having them, it's always good to get other perspectives on old tunes.

Thanks for the tabs in C#m7.

What is interesting that each one of us could play these tabs, but we would all sound different. That is the uniqueness of playing the lap steel guitar.

Cheers Ron and Don. These are elegant little arrangements. There may be more of Kaahiki's work on the way from Billy. If so I will trick it up and post it with a few other odds and ends I have gathered. I am really enjoying investigating this tuning.
