I have wanted to learn to play lap steel for the past 3 years. I have played guitar for a good portion of my life and am looking for the best lap steel I can find in the $200-$300 range....I know it won't be an amazing one, but it seems you can get a few good quality vintage ones in that range (unlike guitars, where vintage means automatic 4 figure price.
I just want to know what you experienced have to say about getting your first lap steel? What to go for? And do you guys have anything you may be willing to sell in that range?
Also, I am mostly into the country and Hawaiian sound....blues is great too, but probably the least priority....so I guess it should be fairly versatile too.
thanks
