This is a 1953 National Double 8 lap/console. It is in better than good shape and it works as it should. One leg is missing the inner chrome tube but the wooden dowel works fine (You know where leg parts can be purchased). I do not have the original button mic cord (they are still available) but I will supply the adapter. The case is still functional but could use some repair. The center latch is missing a rivet, and the left latch is not functional (see photos). The right latch is fine. The rear hinges are fine. $500.00, plus shipping, plus the PayPal fees (500x0.029=14.50). I prefer PayPal – it makes for quick transactions. If you would like specific photos please let me know. The last one to sell on ebay went for $660.00. I thought that $500.00 would be more than a good deal. Any offers?

Paul,

Are you in a hurry? The weekend is a great time to put things on. I wouldn't close it yet, many folks spend Sunday on here.

Truth be told I AM interested in it, but need to figure out if I can spend the money or not. I have a guitar to trade on the Instruments For Sale. I'm not suggesting a trade, but just saying...your guitar is right in line with what I actually want, and I like your price too. Just need to see if I'd cause myself any problem doing it.

Looks like some of the tuning
key buttons have been replaced -
Care to comment on how the
tuning gears are holding up?
Any slippage, excess backlash,
looseness, etc?

I will leave it up. I thought there was no interest because there was over 300 views and no bites.

I just checked the tuning keys. You are correct some are whiter (newer) than others. I just put all 16 keys through a few turns and they are all smooth and do not slip. I haven't played this guitar very much at all. I purchased it because it came with a 1953 National amp. I was after the amp. I play an old Gretsch lap and I just recently purchased a MSA S12 on the forum so I want to thin out the collection.

If you go to FeeBay you're looking at 9% on the sale AND the shipping fees, plus Paypal fees plus being on the hook if some non steel guitar flake gives a silly reason to get his money back. Keep it on the Forum - show your colors Very Happy

Yep, I keep coming back to it, too. I just dropped a big chunk of $$ for a Marlen D-10 though, so don't think I can swing it at this time. My son has one that is (I think) identical to yours, and I really like it. If it lasts, I am definitely interested. I just can't hold you up with lipservice at this point.

Waiting for payment. What is a reasonable donation for a $500.00 sale?
