Anyone using the Godin guitar with synth? If so, is there some new development that sounds better than the Roland GR units? Thanks. Bill |

I have a couple of Godin's, and a Brian Moore with the RMC synth pickups built in. I used a Roland GR33 for a few years, then upgraded to a GR55 a little over a year ago. I had a little trouble getting the 55 dialed in for the RMC pickups, but once I did, it blows the 33 away. I used it for strings, cello, solo violin, and sax in the church band I played in. I quit several months ago and the GR55 hasn't been out of it's case since, guess I may as well sell it. Nice unit though. I really like the large display, it's easy for us old guys to see which patch we have called up. I tried the Axon, a Roland GR-20, and a Roland synth driver with a stand alone Roland sound module, and I didn't like any of them as good as the GR55. _________________ Darvin Willhoite
MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro. |

FWIW, there's a mountain of info on the GR-55 on the V-Guitar Forum.
Worth a look.... |

I use and love Band In A Box. Just updated to the
2012.5. I know there are those on the Forum who do not care for the sounds, but for me they are real enough. If I use steel guitar then it sounds like a steel, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, etc. I would love to be able to do this with the Godin guitar - to play a tune and have it sound like the real thing.
Or at least as real as BIAB. |

I've had a VG-99 for a few years and played it out and also recorded some but not really done a lot with it. I think the midi out with it may be better than the GR's. |
