What a KNOCKOUT show yesterday in Tyler, Texas with R.D. Davis fron Dallas and Jody Cameron from Angleton who entertained a very nice and appreciative crowd for 3 hours. Special guests like Darla Cameron and Dick Hammond added a touch of vocals and did a great job. Jody brought a great bass player with him and I have forgotten his name and Paul Polish did the complete show on drums for us.

NOW TO TOP ALL THAT, we were very surprised and blessed when Johnny and Joan Cox came walking in. It was great to see Johnny up and about with his friends in Tyler. Yes, you knew that Johnny just couldn't sit there and listen. He wound up on stage with the bass and simply added his great touch to the event. Thanks a million Johnny for coming and sharing your great talent with us again. I don't know how Joan held herself back. Maybe she forgot her picks again (BUT I HAD A SET LIKE BEFORE, JOAN).

All in all, we were in hog heaven yesterday in Tyler. You folks that are close enough need to come see us. We have great players and fellowship. Our next meeting will be August 21st. with W. J. Copeland and George Plemons.

Thanks to all the folks at the ETSGA in Tyler! Wow, we had a wonderful time picking and singing. I enjoyed listening to Mr. R.D. Davis do his thing. He definitely had that Carter singing.

I'm so glad Johnny Cox is up and around again, it was good to see him and Joan.

Thanks to my friend Larry Schoppe from Lake Jackson, TX. A fine country singer and bass player, for coming to help us out. And a BIG thanks to my friend and pickin' pal Paul Polish...great drummin' my friend!

Thanks also to Dick Hammond. What a great guy and singer! AND he's a great baby sitter! My two-year old boy took to him like a Duck to water...kids instictively know good folks when they meet 'em!

Thanks agian to Charles Tilley and all the folks at the ETSGA...maybe we can come back again some time. JC
