On May 13, 2012, there will an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest Hawaiian Steel Guitar ensemble to be hosted at Windward Mall in Kaneohe, Hawaii under the leadership and direction of Kumu Alan Akaka.

This will be a part of a Mothers’ Day Concert sponsored by Ke Kula Mele starting at 1:00 PM at Windward Mall in Kaneohe.

You can participate in this historical musical event and be a part of the largest Hawaiian steel guitar ensemble to help establish a world record. You will be joining the Ke Kula Mele’s steel guitar students from Oahu and the neighbor islands, professional steel guitar musicians and other steel guitar enthusiasts performing the song, Nani Waimea.

Well thanks for this reminder. I have friends going to the Islands in May are they are very interested in Steel Guitar. This event will be very memorable.
Any other steel guitar goings on in May near Waikiki...where is Bobby Ingano playing these days?
-any leads to any of the gigs of the great steelers of Hawaii would be greatly appreciated. Smile
