My NV112 has a pre-EQ loop that is supposed to be used for the volume pedal. That allows you to go direct from the guitar to the amp, gets better results somehow. Not sure if the benefit comes from coupling the guitar to the amp, or de-coupling the guitar from the volume pedal.
But what I'm wondering is about my other amp that doesn't have the pre-EQ loop. Can I get the same benefit (whatever it is) by putting an EQ pedal between my guitar and the volume pedal? |

Tommy...Many agree that eliminating volume pedals, effects, etc. from the signal path and running the guitar directly to the amp will yield a purer, less adulterated signal. You might try hooking your system up both ways and see what works best for you. |

Tommy, the pre-eq loop is intended to provide impedance matching for the volume pedal. When used, and the guitar is plugged directly in to the amp's input, all the impedances are optimized. This allows the full tonal qualities of the pickup to be heard.
You'll also notice that the amp eq settings will be different because of these tonal improvements.
If you are using an active volume pedal, like a Hilton, the pre-eq loop is not needed. The pedal handles the impedance changes internally. _________________ Best regards,
