I have a dunlop tonebar 920. (7.5 oz) - 7/8" X 3-1/4" Slide and I dropped it on the concrete a couple days ago and now the abrasion catches on the strings. Yuck. My father is a machinist and has the tools to smooth it out...Is this ok? How thin is the stainless coating? Thanks again for all the wisdom!

If it's stainless, it's almost certainly solid stainless.
If he has the tools and toys to fix it, that's awesome.

I have done that several times with Stainless Steel bars he is correct - the chrome plated ones can sometimes be polished too - he can figure that out.
