Modulation is the category. Chorus is one type of modulation. Phaser, flanger, tremolo, vibe are all types of modulation.
Good enough answer? Nothing stupid in the question. |

Thanks Jon, I'm using a Carbon Copy ( MXR) and it has modulation built in but is not adjustable, I have a Bad Dawg Stereo Chorus that I'd like to try along with the MXR. How would be the best order to put them in? I'm using a Goodrich Super sustain-MXR-Shobud Amp. Where would the Chorus fit best? Thanks again. |

I'd probably put the chorus just before the delay. And if you can switch off the modulation on the delay, I'd probably do that. It would be overkill since you are already modulating the sound with the chorus.
Tip with the chorus (I don't know that one in particular)---try to use it at a bare minimal setting. Nevermind, if you are looking for a big, big alteration but I find that chorus, just barely on, can be really sweet. |

Just as a point of interest, the Carbon Copy actually does have two internal trim pots that adjust the width and rate of modulation. I do agree with Jon that a little goes a long way, and if you're happy with the other chorus pedal, there's probably no need to use the modulation on the Carbon Copy. |

Haven't hooked up the other pedal yet. Just a thought I was pondering on and maybe experiment a little to see the differences and variations of settings. One of those I'd like to try notions. The Carbon Copy is a great pedal. I guess when you get tired of practicing "scale" you start experimenting with the toys. |
