Last night was the Will Rogers AWA awards presentation near Dallas, Tx.A while back I posted our band,Billy Mata and the Texas Tradition, was up for nominations in 5 catagories. Last night Billy was the winner of western swing male vocalist and Entertainer of the year. Our band played one song at the opening of the show. Needless to say,we are all pretty excited. All of us except the lead guitarist have been with Billy over 10 years now.

After spending last weekend with Roger and Texas Tradition, I'm very happy for Billy and all the guys. If any of you are in the San Antonio area, do yourself a favor and find these guys....they are one tight band and you'll be impressed as we were. Congratulations to all the guys.

Thanks Larry and it was our pleasure for you and Steve Matlock to spend some time with us and pick a little too. Of coarse now everyone here is convinced Steve is my illigitimate son. We had close to 800 people on our Sunday picnic.
