Our friend Mike Gross asked me to pass this on:
"The July edition of the recorded continuous airing of "Swingin' West" is up on the Internet on twangtownusa.com. It will be on 24 hours a day seven days a week over and over, for the entire month.
The theme for this month, July, is playing cuts of Bob Wills’ great Texas Playboys steel guitar players in the years after they left the Bob Wills band. Listen to and enjoy the post Bob Wills sound of Leon McAuliffe, Noel Boggs and Les Anderson. Bobby Koefer is heard with the Truitt Cunningham band and Herb Remington with his son, Mark on vocal and a band that includes Johnny Gimble and two charter members of the River Road Boys, Clyde Brewer and Tommy Howser. Also heard are Bob White, Gene Crownover and Shorty Messer as well as Billy Bowman playing behind the great Bob Wills vocalist Joe Andrews in a 1984 Texas Playboys reunion. We also enjoy former Texas Playboys steel players Vance Terry, Hambone Cunningham and Maurice Anderson after their days with the Texas Playboys as well as Kenny Norman behind former Bob Wills vocalist Junior Mitchan from an unissued album. Albert Talley is heard doing his wonderful steel licks behind Kelli Grant from a 1999 hit of hers.
The recorded edition of "Swingin' West" can always be heard by clicking the mouse on the appropriate spot on the bottom of the home page of the "Swingin' West" web site http://swinginwest.com The show starts following a two minute commercial that can be wiped through on your real player device if you prefer." |

Mike,I had been out of town this past week.
But I was able to tune into the show.
I was with friends who were not aware of Mike
Gross and his swinginwest show. They are now.
Just as all the fellows and friends of mine have posted, you as always did a great job.
Thank you for all you have done for myself and other steel players over the years.
We all appreciate the class you show and I know of no one who would take the interest in steel guitar and those who are steel players
who dont appreciate all you have done for all of us.
You have always done me proud and always will
Keep on doing just what you have, dont change
a thing. You my friend are the best.
Your friend and fan
