I am looking for two of these old radio dial escutcheon plates from a late 30's Oahu (Kay) Tonemaster. It would be interesting to find out what radio manufacturer Kay got these from and why they felt compelled to use them. I think Zenith radios were also made in Chicago. I am betting the tone sounds best when tuned to WLS 890am!

Hi Nancy,
I have the knobs, it is the plates I am missing. Unfortunately I have had no luck finding these escutcheon plates. A few of the antique radio restoration places have plates, but not the right ones. I am still hoping I will come across some.
I will let you know if anything turns up. I have seen the old radio dial plates used on several early steels from different manufacturers. I have to bet they got them from a radio manufacturer, and probably the knobs, too. |
