Going to Nashville to the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society convention, July 13th thru July 17th. We'll see around two thousand of the greatest pickers from around the world. Unbelievable performances going on practically around the clock!. Hope to see Russ Hicks, Henry Strelecki, Hoot Hester, Bobbe Seymour, Bob Saxton, Tommy Emanuel, Thom Bresh, and hundreds more. If any of you Girls and Boys are in the area, Look us up in the Wallace Guitar room. Can't wait!!! Lonnie Portwood |

Well, just did the show and they want me to also play Saturday night on the big main show with Bob Saxton, Thom Bresh, Paul Yandell, and more! Should be a killer show with many of the world's greatest guitar players. I'm kinda' lonesome being the only steel guitarest on the show, but I did see a lot of steel fans today. (Wed.)
Well, gotta' go sharpen up my thumbpick!
Bobbe

Bobbe, I guess I can safley assume that Paul Yandell is the same Paul Yandell that worked with the "Louvin Bros". I haven't seen him since Buck Lake, Ind. days.(1957-1958) Somebody told me that he was Chet Atkin's right hand man after the Louvins. When Chet couln't make a session for some reason he would have Paul work it for him. I would say he was fully capable. What a talent! Doyle |
