After 20+ years of writing, publishing, and selling my steel guitar instruction courses I regret to announce I won‘t be offering any more material, effective immediately. I’m shutting it down for a number of reasons, but mainly because I no longer have the time to devote to writing, printing, updating, organizing and selling the courses.

Teaching material needs to be updated every so often, new CDs recorded, new tab written, new items added, etc. In recent years I’ve been teaching full time and getting involved in other projects, and there is just no time to work on the PSG instruction anymore, and quite frankly, I’ve pretty much lost interest in doing so. I do continue to teach 50 students a week, mostly on guitar and a few on PSG, and I still play a half a dozen gigs a month with two bands. So believe me… I’m still playing steel guitar!

My inventory of courses is now depleted and I won’t be getting any more printed. I’ll be changing over my web site in a couple of days. My site will still have the “free tab” page, and I’m sure I will be adding new songs to that soon. B0b may still have some of my courses in stock, so you might want to check with him if you’re interested in anything. Thank you!

Doug did a great job in writing and designing
his instructional material. His courses were very clear, not too long and a nice job in narating.
If you need instructional material you better get them while you can!
I want to thank Doug and wish him the best in his future endeavors!

Consider letting Scotty or Bob or somebody else that you trust, taking it over and reproduce your past material. Could be some $ in your pocket. Perhaps on a royality basis, so no one is taking a gamble and both parties are protected in the event the material sells well or doesn't sell well. Just my 2 cents.

Doug, I'm really sorry that your excellent instructional material is going on a long vacation. Your material was clear, concise, well thought out, a good model for me as I've developed my own psg E9 curriculum. Thanks for your shared wisdom and inspiration all these years. Hope you get time to do more of it sooner than later!

I just want to add, that as a student of Doug's since I started PSG a year and a half ago, he always has had a way of cutting right to the point. When you couple his written work with the audio CD's he provides, all of his material is fantastic. If and when he decides to continue with updated versions in the future, I'm sure it will be top notch stuff. Personally, I never found any cobwebs on what was already available, but sometimes a different direction can lead to great thing. I feel very fortunate for having him as my teacher. Extremely nice guy too.

Doug, one of the very first courses I ever bought was "Amy" that you did way back in the late '70s. I still have it!
Good luck in all you do...
