Does anybody use Tabledit? It seems to work fine (for 6 string) just by setting the regular guitar tuning to c6.

There are a number of players that uses TablEdit for tabbing for Steel Guitar.

In the latest version 2.71 b1, a number of Steel tunings has been added.
* Dobro
* Lap Steel C6
* Lap Steel E13

and
* PSG E9 Chromatic
* PSG C6

It's a good program but it takes some effort to learn how to use it!

You will find some tutorials here

A demo of the program can be downloaded here

PS! I'm just a happy user of TablEdit!

I use it exclusively. I've learned the ins and outs of it and requested a few changes with respect to being able to have more customizable tuning slots.

I like it. The price is right and it does a good job and, more importantly, the developer is always willing to hear your requests. It's not perfect, though.

I find that it produces the easiest to decipher of the tab programs when trying to learn a tune.

As far as writing is concerned, its good for writing down newly made licks so as not to forget them.

I've been fooling around with the demo version. I'm using the "acoustic guitar" setting with tuning changed to an A6 tuning. I've been having some difficulty getting slides indicated correctly, and so far totally failed at figuring out how to do a slide/re-attack between notes.

I intend to register/buy the full program. Even if not perfect, it seems reasonably friendly even to a computer dummy like me. And certainly quite useful. Smile

I have also been working with the demo version. I plan on purchasing the full version. Like any other software, there is a learning curve involved but, like so many other programs, it doesn't seem to require more than a basic understanding of computers to actually use it.
So far it seems to do exactly what I need it for.
