Thanks James and Doug. Keep your tunes coming too... I always enjoy them.
For some, the sound of the sea is disquieting and restless, for others it is soothing and restful; I belong to the latter category.
I forgot to list the Pacific Ocean which was featured in the recording.
Apart from it being featured on Webley Edwards' " Hawaii Calls", and its Hawaiian name, "Kai Hawanawana", I could not find out much about this lovely tune (love the F to Db/ G to Eb chord progression). Would be grateful if anyone had more information on its origin...

Thank you kindly to all for the appreciation. I found out subsequently that the composer and lyricist was Alfred Unauna Alohikea who also wrote the beautiful "Pua Lilia"
I came across this version of Kai Hawanawana: http://ie.7digital.com/artist/various-artists/release/pau-hana-party?h=19-Kai-Hawanawana ...but it is a rather unflattering rendition, I feel.
Hawaiian Lyrics:
`Auhea wale ho`i `oe
E ke kai häwanawana nei i ke one
He one ho`oheno `ia
E ka ipo e nohenohea nei i ka poli
He poli pumehana i ka hana a ka mana`o
Me he ala e i mai ana
`Auhea wale ho`i `oe
E ke kai häwanawana nei i ke one
English Translation:
This is for you
Oh sea that whispers upon the sand
Sands that are cherished by
My lovely sweetheart, held in my embrace
Thoughts come to mind, that warms the heart
And seem to say
This is for you
Oh sea that whispers upon the sand
