I had a go at making a Knee lever lock from bits I found in the garage, works fine and has not involved any damage to the steel...

Cool. But why would you lock RKR? Do you have your E's lowered there?

Thanks for your comments , Gary I play a Carter uni 12 so yes I drop the Es . The whole unit is removeable , Also it makes the guitar very stable..

I lower my E's on RKR also... That was the way Jeff Newman was teaching it in the early 80's in his S12U course.
