i'm having a pedal steel guitar built, and chose black walnut for the aprons and neck, with birdseye maple for the top. does anyone know of any guitars out there built using black walnut or types of wood other than maple? any thoughts on how the walnut may affect tone? who builds 'em with exotic woods? please send photos if you have them, it would be great to see what's out there.

p.s. this thread was begun in the humor section earlier today...oops! what was i thinkin'?
