Several weeks back I weakened and allowed M/Soft to 'fix' my computer so that I could back-up all of my newer content......

This is a Dell Laptop Inspiron E-1705 Dual Core.....with Win7........

I guess it came with two partitions but I now have three and need to acquire additional disc space and need to determine how to go about removing that third partition in order to expand my disc capacity.

WHAT STEPS need I take and/or how do I go about accomplishing this? Any printed source to go to?

This can be done with Acronis True Image, but you'll need to find a way to attach a second empty hard drive to the motherboard, or to a plug-in SATA build-out card.

Or, take the laptop to a computer store and see if they can clone a new larger drive for you and use it in place of the original.

That depends on what the partitions actually are.. You can extend partitions with disk commander without any issues.. Click and drag...

If it's a system partition or a manufactuer partition, it's probably used for recovery and should not be monkied with.

I'd be careful if I were you...
